The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) have published a safety flyer aimed at the Fishing Industry following a fatal manoverboard.
The flyer focuses on lone working fishermen, but the emphasis is on the fact that once again - NO Lifejacket or other Personal Flotation Device (PFD) was being worn, which could have saved a life.
Also, carrying a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) would have substantially increased the skippers chances of survival.
This message is of equal importance to the recreational boater as well as fishermen.
