The Newhaven - Dieppe ferry "Seven Sisters" had a minor contact with the Newhaven quayside on the night of Friday 21st December. Although the damage to the vessel was minor, it did cause a distortion to the Bow Visor meaning it could not be fully secured. Passengers were able to disembark from the vessel as normal, but embarkation was cancelled and passengers diverted to Portsmouth or Dover. Following tempoary repairs, the Seven Sisters departed from Newhaven empty on Sunday 23rd for a repair yard in Dunkirk.
The ferry "Cote D'Albatre" took up service on the route from Thursday 27th December and sailings are back to normal.
As the two ferries are sister vessels and the crew transferred across, passengers will not notice any difference to the service.
It is not yet known when the Seven Sisters will return to service, but the owners may take the opportunity to carry out a full refit.
