Today's high tide at 1220hrs is one of the highest of the year combined with low pressure and very strong winds.
This will cause very large waves on the coast.
The public should stay away from the beaches, seafront and promenades over the lunchtime period today.

The high tides remain very high for the next 3 days but the wind is forecast to decrease over this time.
Owners of boats and riverside structures should ensure all is well secured.
Batten down the hatches!
