French Temporary ban on entry due to Covid - UPDATED 05/01/21

UPDATE 05/01/21 =

Covid testing at the Port will end at 2300hrs on Wednesday 6th January 2021 in line with other cross-channel ports.

After this time, hauliers will have to arrive at the Port with proof of a negative test result within the last 72 hours - or they will be turned away.

The Government testing sites for hauliers are listed on their website at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/haulier-advice-site-locations
Unfortunately there are no testing sites within Sussex, which we hope Government will rectify ASAP.

Please note that Newhaven operates a pre-booking system and does not accept any traffic that does not have a booking specifically for the DFDS Newhaven - Dieppe route.

NO BOOKING = NO BOARDING.

NO NEGATIVE COVID TEST RESULT = NO BOARDING.

NOT BORDER READY = NO BOARDING.

UPDATE 1030hrs GMT 24/12/20 =

Sussex Reslience Forum partners have pulled off an amazing feat and have sucessfully Covid tested all freight drivers for last nights departure and this mornings departure, allowing them all to travel home for Christmas. A huge thanks to all those involved, especially the Sussex NHS doctors, nurses and assistants who volunteered to work through until the job was done. The Port is now closed for ferry traffic. The next departure is at 1000hrs Saturday 26th December 2020.
A Happy Christmas to all.

Please note that Newhaven operates a pre-booking system and does not accept any traffic that does not have a booking specifically for the DFDS Newhaven - Dieppe route. This has been the situation for a long time and will continue after Brexit. NO BOOKING = NO BOARDING.
